Learn about PVT Carlton W. Barrett at this presentation by John Maniatis from the First Division Museum’s Collections department.
Barret, a 1st Infantry Division soldier, was the only living individual to receive the Medal of Honor — our country’s highest military award for valor — for his actions on Omaha Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Two others received the honor posthumously.
This evening program will focus on a personal account of D-Day as told by a “Big Red One” brother in arms of Barrett, and on lesser-known details of Carlton Barrett’s personal life.
