Viet Cong Propaganda Banner

This cotton banner was found on Highway 13 during a mine clearing/road clearing operation. It was booby trapped, but Terry Hueser helped remove the booby traps and take it down. Highway 13 was a road that ran north from Saigon to Loc Ninh and was regularly stalked and harassed by the Viet Cong.
The 1st Engineers Battalion were in Vietnam for five years supporting combat operations with the 1st Infantry Division. They built airfields, roads, and basecamps. They also cleared mines and boobytraps from local areas including extensive Viet Cong tunnels.
