Vietnamese made unofficial insignia for the 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment (Mechanized), known as “Bandido Charlie”. This insignia would have been worn on the breast pocket of the tropical coat by members serving with the unit while in Vietnam. These were made and procured locally in-country. This example was likely a spare and does not appear to have been sewn to a coat.
