Tropical Combat Coat

In tropical Vietnam, soldiers needed uniforms that were comfortable in hot, humid conditions. This uniform featured lightweight cotton fabric and four cargo pockets on the front. 1st Lieutenant Timothy F. O’Brien wore this coat during 1970, while serving with Troop B, 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment. Troop B was a ready-reaction force for Saigon during the 1970 Tet holiday.
