This silk souvenir pillow was created during the occupation of Germany after World War I. “Neuwied”, embroidered in red along the top corner is a German town located on the east bank of the Rhine River near Koblenz. The center patch is that of the 3rd Army, which the 1st Division was assigned to during World War I.
